We undertake diverse projects across a wide area of interests and applications, embodying the strong belief held by our co-founders – that balancing experience with innovation is imperative for keeping the creative spark alive – and that is only possible by exploring a variety of work.
Engaging with our clients at every step of our design process is at the core of what we do, right from the conception of the idea, selection of the site, to finalising the project budget. We understand their aspirations and limitations, and synthesise them with the technical feasibility of the same to birth the architectural expression.
We believe in creating holistic architectural projects, the final form being an expression of various factors: climate, function, stability and the cumulative expression of our creativity and our clients’ vision.
We believe in appointing technical consultants for various services and the engineering phases to ensure a technically sound completion for every facet of the project. To this end, we detail the project to its finest level, using BIM and latest building performance simulation tools and processes to ascertain design and actual building performance.
Sunil Saini’s works with Dr. K. S. Jagdish, Dr. Ashish Rege and Mr. B. V. Venkatarama Reddy were published in 1983. Primarily interested in low-cost building systems and energy conservation in buildings, while also studying industrialized building systems, he worked with Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Bangalore, on alternative building construction methods. He was also the part of the INTACH team for the preparation of the Master Plan of Leh Town in Ladakh, J&K.
Sushil Aggarwal studied the evolution of the house form and the impact of social values, naming his design thesis ‘Adaptable housing’. He has always been interested in mass housing and housing for all. His articles ‘Manifestation of values’, ‘Efficiency of Spaces’, and several of his sketches have featured in prestigious architectural magazines like A+D. Currently a visiting design professor at his alma mater, SPA, to keep his academic interest alive, he does outdoor sketching over weekends to keep his artistic sensibilities active.
Kinshuk Aggarwal is the burgeoning third pillar of ‘SSSA Architects’. Following a B. Arch graduation from USAP, Delhi, he completed his masters from The Bartlett, UCL, London, in ‘Sustainable Urbanism’. Before returning home to SSSA, he worked on developing sustainable growth strategies for Nacka county in Stockholm, Sweden and consulted on niche projects in central London focussing on sustainable housing models and modes of construction using shipping containers. With a keen eye for, and global exposure in technology and sustainable practices, Kinshuk brings a differentiated, forward-looking technological edge to the team.
